It’s been awhile since I’ve written a weekly update post but I’m feeling the share vibes today. I’m going on day four of not much sleep so I could come across a little wacko, apologizing ahead of time.
My pup hasn’t been feeling well so we’ve been doing 1 am and 4 am wake ups. Fun stuff. We’re making progress though. My poor princess is on all kinds of meds – that she hates by the way. But she’s been getting some special treats like home cooked meals to make up for it. (I did reference her as my princess).
Oh man, just had a thought – did I remember to feed the cats? Yes, because at 7 am Yowler was having a fuss…we call him Yowler for obvious reasons.
Okay so now that I’ve showcased how all over the place I am today, maybe down to business.
Let’s chat motivation and realistic goals today.
In December I got really sick, totally crashed. I spent the month and a good part of January in recovery. I kept my schedule pretty darn empty with super short, basic tasks lists. Towards the end of January, I started adding back more activities to my planner. I also set forth on a super deep self-discovery mission. Kind of cool discovery – I’m an INTJ. Discovering my personality type has been so cool and really has been eye-opening for understanding why I do a lot of the things I do and why I think the way I do about a lot of things.
I’m aligning my goals, my life with what feels true to me.
By understanding my personality type I’ve been able to better align my life and my goals with what really fits. Life feels as it makes more sense now. It feels more natural. I’ve noticed I feel better grounded, more self confident, and more hopeful of good things happening. I feel more secure.
Magic starts happening when you are true to yourself and take care of yourself.
Because I’ve been finding more clarity, my goals have been more realistic. Sure there’s still tons I want out of life. That’s just who I am, always wanting more! But my timelines are obtainable. I’ve removed that awful stress of unrealistic expectations. And really awesome things are coming into play because of it. I’m allowing things to flow.
Here’s a little blurb about what my schedule for blogging looks like lately:
With all that being said, I’ve also decided to finally get on board with my #FitFebruary goals. So what if I didn’t start on February 1st. I wasn’t ready. Today felt like things were moving along though so here we go.
What’s my wellness plan look like?
This morning I started back with Intermittent Fasting. There are many different levels of this. The one I’m going with is 16/8. What this means is that I’ll fast for 16 hours and then eat in the 8 hour allotted time slot. Yes my fasting period includes my sleeping time – whew. My eating period will be from 12pm-8pm every day. Yes, I’m sure I’ll slide some days depending on my schedule and my activities for the day. I’m okay with that. Flexibility is healthy. It’s realistic.
Tomorrow morning I’ll be starting a bit of a detox with some yummy teas. Since I’m a tea lover this works for me. And since I’ll be giving up coffee and creamer in the mornings, this will be a fantastic alternative for me.
Exercising will be coming a little bit at a time. I don’t want to overwhelm myself with too many routines to squeeze in a day. So I’ll be adding in a little bit at a time. As a result, my routines will build into a natural daily flow. A couple of weeks ago I started with crunches, squats and push ups each day. I’ll be sticking with that for a bit until it becomes old hat. Then the plan is to start adding some yoga practice back in.
Here’s some posts about my healthy habits challenges for a little extra inspiration:
I have a busy week ahead of me so I’ll have to allow some space to make room for those extra tasks and plans on my schedule…work stuff mostly.
I’m just going to focus on taking one day on at a time. But then I’ve got the weekend to kick back – spa day planned for Friday! Woot! Woot!
Hope you all have an amazing week!!!
