30 Random Acts of Kindness that Don’t Cost Any Money

Performing random acts of kindness takes a bit of practice, routine and sometimes creativity. Doing something for others doesn’t have to take much effort.

It also doesn’t have to cost a dime.

  1. Smile at a stranger.
  2. Encourage someone who’s struggling.
  3. Give a word of praise to someone who’s least expecting it, like your boss.
  4. Hold the elevator for someone who’s in a rush.
  5. Read a child a story.
  6. Let someone vent to you.
  7. Give a heartfelt thank you.
  8. Share a friend’s creative work on social media.
  9. Call someone you haven’t talked to in a long time just to say hello.
  10. Leave a blog comment when you read a post that truly resonates with you.
  11. Offer a homeless person your leftovers from a restaurant or bagged lunch.
