I’m a bit late in replying to this beautiful nomination from Zuri Sophilia Walker but in looking back it all came to a perfect timing. Because tonight now I can not only share with you what my passions are but also in how I am realigning my life to thrive from my passions.
Quoting from Zuri’s post, “Passions give our lives purpose, motivating us to pursue those things that make our souls sing and hearts skip a beat.” That is how I want to awake every morning. I want to awake feeling full of life and purpose.
What a beautiful and amazing nomination to be given. Thank you Zuri so much!
I am such an eclectic person that my passions can seem quite broad. It can be a challenge some days on how I can rope all of these beautiful things into my life.
I’m passionate about:
- Art & Creativity
- Mental Health Advocacy
- Self-Care and Personal Development
- Food & yummy drinks like wine, craft beer and specialty cocktails
- Health and Wellness
- Helping others reach their goals and make their dreams come true
- Family and Friends
Just to name a few…so you can imagine how it can be a challenge on how to find a path that allows me to embrace all these passions within a day, or even one week. Blogging in many ways allows me to embrace some of these passions but there is more to do – more to experience.
I started into the working world at the ripe age of 14 and I’ve been super worker girl since. 21 years later and I’m in a job I enjoy but I’m burnt out – the corporate world has taken its toll on me. On the side I continue to try and side hustle like a maniac to fill my life with my dreams (and add that passion I need in my life). Some days it felt like I was running a rat race.
I’ve decided to replace “work” with “living my passions.”
Last week, I made a decision that even shocked myself. Today I put my resignation in to my full time corporate job. Talk about making the jump for a lifestyle change. I’m taking this risk to make room for my passions.
I want to be able to use this space to build a lifestyle that inspires others to go after their dreams. To make magic in their lives.
These passions are a blessing. I have been blessed with the opportunity to wear many hats so that I can run a business. I’ve been blessed with creativity and a love for art so that I can move forward in the artist community. And I’ve been blessed with the ability to help others through stories, support and wisdom. Many, if not all, of these developed through my own experiences.
In the coming weeks you’ll be able to find me painting more, hiking more and filling my days with things I love.
