So I’ve decided that this year I want to dress up for Halloween…I missed last year but did enjoy handing out candy at the door (so many adorable costumes!!!). I ran through a bunch of ideas for costumes – I could do this for days, I love Halloween!!! 1) Cute & Simple Bunny I decided on this one for the office! It’s simple, cute and I can manage through the day without any crazy costume malfunctions. I picked up a set of super adorable lace bunny ears (I went with pink) and I got one of those pom pom key…

We all know the “I’m borrrrrreeeedddd” whines from the kiddos we get once school lets out. Here’s five super easy to pull together crafts to jump into. 1. Make a sun-melted crayon candle. – I did this one a couple weekends ago with my son. (You can check out my day here – A Day In My Life: Weekend Bliss & Tasks). Fill a jar, we used a vintage looking mason jar, with unwrapped crayons and add a wick. Set in the sun to melt. 2. Paint Pet Monster Rocks. – Collect some smooth rocks and paint in bright colors. Glue on…

So super late, must admit, the last week has felt a bit overwhelming, just so much that has crept up on my plate. In some moments I feel like quitting and crawling under the covers and sleeping right through all the chaos but in most of the moments I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. When I finally got home last evening I was having a “ah, forget it, I’m so tired moment” but then some little things with big impact to me happened…I received two of my product shipments for my upcoming store launch (more…

Today’s #ArtThursday is brought to you by me…and the benefits of Art Therapy. Did you know that practicing art or even by doing a craft it can act as a meditative practice for you? When we channel our energy into creating something it can have many therapeutic properties. 1.) Art is relaxing and has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety and decrease worry. 2.) It can teach us insight, empathy and acceptance. 3.) It promotes self-expression and can help us express and process emotions or stress that we may have suppressed. 4.) Art therapy stimulates the mind. 5.) It…

Artistic expression is good for the soul. Art therapy has proven to be effective in so many ways. It can be a release, a place to de-stress, allowing the inventive and innovative side of yourself to be exposed.  I wanted to create a place where we can all share our creations to inspire each other on our journeys and artistic endeavors. Whether that be an expressive painting or a craft you’ve conquered, this is the place to share.  An InLinkz Link-up

As an artist I am always looking for ways to grow. I have several forms of art and artistic expression that I am eager to try. Oil Painting – my go-to paint choice has always been acrylic, in the last year I’ve expanded into water colors but I still have yet to give oils a try so that’s most definitely on my list! Macrame – The beautiful wall hangings and jewelry that I’ve seen come from this wonderful craft are beautiful. I think this is a skill that will take more patience but I think it will be relaxing and…

“Creativity is inventing, experimenting, growing, taking risks, making mistakes, and having fun.” ~ Mary Lou Cook Where would art be if we didn’t have artists that pushed the limits and broke some rules?  I have a secret love for street art and graffiti. It takes some gust and some big inspirations to create art like that, big scale and bold colors up for the whole world to see.    From a simple smiley face to a city poetry garden to a grand message, these pieces of art are one of a kind and hold their ground. Go explore, there is…
