Sundays are my favorite day of the week. Especially when I get to spend it with my ma. Tackling some errands, a wonderful Sunday Brunch, and even snuck a little shopping in there…and it was National Hat Day! Not tooting my horn, but a lucky day it was since I found my wide brimmed hat that actually fits my head and doesn’t swallow me whole (I’ve only been searching for over a year!).  Started the day out a little slow but on a wonderfully positive note. I love mornings that I don’t have to push myself out of bed! Cooked…

So many of us are out to grab the world by the horns this year, myself included. I’m currently finishing up You Are A Badass: How To Stop Doubting Your Greatness and Start Living an Awesome Life by Jen Sincero which has given me some wonderful revelations, especially the chapters about Fear and Money. I just ordered Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert which I’m super psyched to get started on, especially after listening to her TED Talks Podcast. I’ve said before that I really feel 2017 has a lot of magic to give this year and I am excited to…

After catching the sick bug going around this past week, I landed myself home sick to recover a couple of days…I could have pushed through but then I would have landed myself in burnout mode so I tucked away on Thursday and stayed in bed! Oh the awful burnout, we’ve all been there at some time or another. When I go into burnout mode everything shuts down, my mind goes blank, my body gets weak, and my life becomes a bit of a blur…so recovery is a must!  Today, I’ve decided to take a Selfish Saturday! I slept in, am still in…

I had it on my bucket list last year to paint a self portrait. I took it off my bucket list this year. Though I haven’t sat down in front of the mirror and painted a mere image of myself, I have painted many self portraits. Each piece of my artwork also has a piece of me in them. A reflection of who I am, how I feel, how I see. Artwork is an expression of ourselves, in each piece a part of our individuality is captured. Therefore I will always be painting a self portrait in some way. In…

Let’s say I’m one of those types that thrives better in warmer climates…yet I live in the crazy-can’t make up it’s mind about weather state of Pennsylvania so come January it gets a little chilly around here. From January through March we get to enjoy the beautiful scenery of freezing rain and the occasional peaceful snow dump. Don’t get me wrong, I love snow, it’s beautiful – at first…then it turns into a slushy mess – and I’m just not feeling the so cold temperatures we get around here. I try and rebel so much against winter that I have…

I love love love to curl up with a cup of hot tea! Maybe it’s the Brit in me but anywhere, any time of year, you can find me drinking tea. I have found that a cup of hot tea can mellow me out, keep me from snacking, and soothe a sore throat. It can make my tears go away, bring a smile to my face…tea fixes everything in my life. Tea not only has it’s emotional benefits for me but it also has quite a lot of health benefits. Did you know that studies have shown that tea even…

How to stay pumped all through your work day: Woohoo, rocked the morning! The mid-day mark has arrived, the work day is half over…this is usually where I start wearing down…don’t rush through lunch to barely slide through the afternoon. Keep your productivity up and stay feeling good through the whole day with these simple Self-Care routines during your lunch break. 1. Eat a healthy lunch – choose foods that are energizing. Lay off the heavy carbs that can make you tired. 2. Take a walk – get moving. If you can’t go outside, take a walk around the office….

I believe in surrounding myself with inspiration and motivation that fuels me throughout my day. I build my bedroom with the same idea. Every task I complete I want to inspire me…including making my bed… I am given a gift every morning that I awake. I am given the ability to go make my day any way I want it to be, the opportunity to make it an amazing day. I will admit some mornings are tough, sometimes the bed is too warm and the day is too cold, or I’m too tired and I know a long day awaits…

I am a healthy snack fanatic. With the exception of Cheetos, I would choose something fresh over chips any day. I think they taste better and I feel better eating them. This series is all about making that healthier choice. I’ve combined some benefits of some of my favorite power foods with some snacky ideas and recipes in this series to help you fight the temptation of running to the vending machine. This week’s choice – almonds! I will never forget my first time eating a raw almond from the organic stand at the Farmer’s Market – ripping off the…

My ex says to me, “You just want to go and be seen all the time.” His comment really irked me. It made me feel as if he was implying I was a show-off which doesn’t really fit my personality or my values and it bugged me. The comment stuck with me, it kept nagging at me and I kept analyzing it over and over. Driving home from the grocery store, laying down to sleep at night – I’d think of it. Such a simple comment that had become ever-so annoying to me, sticking in my mind. Last night it…
