To All My Past Lovers: I hope you go out there and find yourself. I hope you explore and experience the world with eyes wide open. Maybe I gave you too much, maybe I didn’t give you enough. Maybe I hurt you, maybe you hurt me, or maybe we hurt each other. Maybe we were too different or maybe we too much of the same. I hope you are learning to let go. I hope you have forgiven. I hope you have moved on. I am ready to forgive. I am ready to let go. I am ready to move…

Adrenaline was coursing through my veins. I started my Fitbit too soon, I had to stop it. I was nervous. I was anxious. I was excited. One by one, clouds of emotions rolled over me. Here I was standing under an over cast sky on an early Saturday morning in June waiting for the announcer to yell, “Go!”. I stood still, holding my balance strong while being bumped around by runners rearing to take off just as much as I was. I was at the starting line of The Baltimore 10 Miler. Thoughts of doubt, thoughts of disbelief, and thoughts…

It’s been such a while since I’ve written, shared, or to be honest even visited my blog. It wasn’t that I was turning my back on all of you or my dreams. I just found myself overwhelmed with all the things going on in my life. I tried hard at the beginning to stick to my routines and to push through the chaos but I kept sliding, feeling like I was in the middle of a meteor shower with all space rocks being hurdled at me. I learned quite a lesson about how self-care can mutate in our lives depending on…

Summer is officially here and I am so ready to hit the sunny beaches! I put together this great list of reads to pack in your beach bag for while you’re soaking up the sun. 2017 Reading List: Beach Reads   The Shark Club by Ann Kidd Taylor –  One summer day on the beach in Florida, two extraordinary things happen to Maeve Donnelly. First, she is kissed by Daniel, the boy of her dreams. Then, she is bitten by a blacktip shark. Set against the intoxicating backdrop of palm trees, calypso bands, and perfect ocean views, The Shark Club is a story of…

A good night’s rest is a key to good preparation for a good day the next. I, however as much as I know this, am one of those peeps with a racing mind and can be much of a night owl, finding it a struggle to wind down sometimes at night for bed. I keep some tips and tricks up my sleeve to help me prepare to hit the sack each night so that I can ensure I get a restful night to be ready to go for the next busy day. 1.) Eat earlier. Try and eat at least three…

I awoke that morning filled with energy. I climbed out of bed without the aches and pains I had felt so many mornings before. I could stretch my arms above my head without feeling sharpness in my neck, standing tall without the soreness in my knees. I stood in front of my closet that morning trying to find something to wear, none of my clothes fit… Two years ago, I would wake up in pure pain all through out my body. Each day I started exhausted and filled with anxiety about the day ahead. Then I found myself without a…

It can be a challenge to keep the pups entertained when you have so much going on…though I’d love to spend my whole days running around, throwing the ball or playing tug-of-war with my pups I know that’s just not my option most days. Don’t get me wrong, I definitely sneak in some play time throughout the day but there are the down times I need to get some time behind the computer screen so keeping the pups entertained on those counts is a must.  My pup Lucy has a gluten-allergy which surprisingly I learned that most dog treats…

Vacation season is among us and that means busy schedules and travel leaving us out of our usual exercise routines. Don’t give up on your fitness goals and don’t get stuck inside at the gym at the hotel. Grab a resistance band that packs away easily in your bag and work up a little sweat in the sunshine! Bicep Curls Squats Shoulder Press Rear Shoulder Pull Leg Press Row Resistance bands don’t take up much space and can provide a great work out any where you are. Pick up the right weighted one for you, I started with a lightweight…

We all know the “I’m borrrrrreeeedddd” whines from the kiddos we get once school lets out. Here’s five super easy to pull together crafts to jump into. 1. Make a sun-melted crayon candle. – I did this one a couple weekends ago with my son. (You can check out my day here – A Day In My Life: Weekend Bliss & Tasks). Fill a jar, we used a vintage looking mason jar, with unwrapped crayons and add a wick. Set in the sun to melt. 2. Paint Pet Monster Rocks. – Collect some smooth rocks and paint in bright colors. Glue on…
