I was browsing through some old posts, doing my monthly reflecting thing, and I came across this one. I wrote it in September of 2014, a true turning point in my life. With Easter soon here, it brings thoughts to mind of hope and new beginnings, a thought of how true pain can bring upon us glorious resurrection. I can’t say that my life became easy, or that heartache stopped to exist in my life after this turning point, and maybe some days I still don’t take it in the best stride, but I do come back from it every…

I found this poem in a folder from my childhood. This poem speaks of how I perceived confusion as a child. Confusion is the dark gray of a stormy sky It sounds like the crying of starving children The taste is of stale crackers And the smell of a salty sea An evil curse upon a prince I see Confusion makes me feel as if the world Has turned against me I think that confusion in many ways feels the same to me today as it did to me as a child. Confusion can stem so many more emotions in…

I have a secret love for pineapples…even though I don’t like to eat pineapples…weird right. I love the beauty and the symbolism of the fruit though – meaning friendship, gatherings, welcoming, hospitality, and warmth…and one of my favorite quotes: “Be like a pineapple. Stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside.” This is such a wonderful quote to remind us to be good people, practice good self care, and stay confident in all areas of life!  I thought pineapples would be a fun theme gearing up for summer so for today’s fashion picks I bring you fun, flirty…

It was a damn cold afternoon…but we were determined to get this shoot. There was an upcoming local art show at HiveArtSpace that we wanted to submit to…”Beauty in the Art of Decay”…so off we set to Ruins Park in Glen Rock where we could capture the beautiful graffiti as a background in our shoot. We found the most inspiring art work to shoot with and were set free and given a fire of creativity within ourselves with this artsy shoot. With every shot that I was able to gaze upon the sky, I was given a view of a…

With warmer weather in the forecast, Spring finally here, I have been starting to crave those tropical feeling foods. When I was younger, I wouldn’t touch an avocado, fast forward to today and they are one of my favorite foods. Packed with super benefits, tasty, and a great combo to most dishes, avocados have become a staple in my diet. Avocados are considered a SuperFood because of how high they are in nutrients and studies continue to find new health benefits of it.   Avocados are: High in healthy fats Contain no Cholesterol or Sodium Low in Saturated Fats High in…

In today’s world so many of us are always on the go, juggling several tasks all at once, it can be tough to keep organized. As much as sometimes I hate to admit it, I’d be lost without my phone. As a blogger, marketing manager, and fitness & wellness geek my phone is my on the go bestie. Besides the several times of day I’m on social media sites sharing a post or sending a message, I also use my phone to help keep myself on task and on track. Evernote – This app is a godsend for me and…

I went eleven days without writing, without posting, without sharing my thoughts with you all. I wasn’t MIA, I was on a bit of a different path, a side street for a bit. I took some time and dove into my office life as a marketing manager, I took some time to sleep, I took some time to process the moons, to clean out my closet. I took some time to think, a lot of time to think…and now I am here, ready to go. Sometimes we need to take some steps back, take a look at where we are,…

Poetry is a release, An escape of words, Into the moments beyond us. Thoughts of love, Thoughts of sorrow. Poetry captures the essence, Of the world around us. Allowing our visions, To become words upon the paper. Poetry opens the cap, Of the bottle we hold locked away. April is National Poetry Month, a time for us to recognize it’s amazing existence in our world. It has served a purpose to share our stories from generation to generation. It has created a place for us to release our emotions from within ourselves. It has provided therapy to many and has…
