A Day in My Life – Weekend Bliss & Tasks

What’s a day in my life like? Well I make sure I have at least a little adventure in each day. I focus on finding beauty and peace in each of my days. I make sure to do at least three things to help me get closer to my goals. I include some self-care practices into every day. And I like to have a little fun each day.

Before everyone woke up, I was able to get some quiet time at the kitchen table with my planner. I used this time to work on some editorial planning for my blog while I drank my morning cup of tea. 

Well the kiddo is up…the interesting sound effects that are coming from the living room…I let my son play some video games in the morning while I worked on wrapping up some chores.

The pups take a late morning nap while I finish putting my clean clothes away. 

Finding inspiration and peace in watering my lemon tree plant. 

 

Trying out our crafty sides, my son and I made a sun-melted candle…it wasn’t too hot today though so it hasn’t melted yet but we’re looking forward to a hot day to see the finished project! 

Checked off my to-do list making all natural dog shampoo and soap for a local dog shop. 

Took a few minutes to add some ideas/blog posts to my editorial calendar…yeah I pretty much keep my computer open all day for intermittent tasks…not the best habit but it’s working for me for now.

In my thirties and I had never done the Diet Coke & Mentos Experiement. Well I can check that off my bucket list now! You can see a snippet of the go-down on YouTube here

Celebrating Memorial Day with a picnic food dinner. Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Homemade Pickles, Pasta Salad, and more, yum! 

Cookie Cake is my favorite (aside Chocolate Torte). I eat (several) small pieces to psych myself into believing I’m not actually eating almost the whole thing. 

Starting a Tarot Card Journaling Challenge this week – I’ll pull a card each day and write how it is relevant to my life and what my intentions are after considering my reading. Tarot Card Reading is a great way to pursue intuition reading and reflection. 

Back to some blogging tasks – adding tasks to my CoSchedule calender…which I am finding a blessing of a service for organizing and managing my blog. 

Some evening Yoga & Meditation to relax and decompress from the day. Shameless plug – I absolutely love the stuff I get from ProSource and love their prices too – if you’re a yogi, or even an all around fitness enthusiast, this place is worth checking out. 

Winding down with a cup of hot tea (I easily drink 5 cups of tea a day) and a movie with the fam. 

How Powerful Core Beliefs Will Guide Your Life & Happiness

Our beliefs can transform our lives. Many of my beliefs I have carried with me year after year,  helping shape me into the person I am today and the person I strive to be. These beliefs have continued to inspire and motivate me in each of my days. They give me strength and hope and the fire to keep going no matter what obstacles or heartache come my way.

Your beliefs become your perspective. 

What you put out into the world is what will be returned to you. Life is a circle, if you send good energy out, that is what you will be returned with. Although not all things in life will be roses, choose not to only see the thorns. Each experience that you have in life is preparing you for something much grander. If you chose to believe that, then you can be at peace in knowing that good things are coming no matter where you are in life right now. Keep your head up and keep pushing forward towards your goals and dreams and you will arrive when the time is right. Creating a positive mindset will help you get there. We each have the ability to change our way of thinking, to control how much power we give to negativity and circumstances, and the power to not allow situations or people control our emotions, feelings, and outcomes.

Create strong core beliefs and hold on to them to get you through anything.

Being Powerful & Inspired: My Quote Wall & Making The Bed

I believe in surrounding myself with inspiration and motivation that fuels me throughout my day. I build my bedroom with the same idea. Every task I complete I want to inspire me…including making my bed… I am given a gift every morning that I awake. I am given the ability to go make my day any way I want it to be, the opportunity to make it an amazing day. I will admit some mornings are tough, sometimes the bed is too warm and the day is too cold, or I’m too tired and I know a long day awaits me, but each day I push myself out of bed.

I’ve been spending some time listening to Motivational Podcasts Every Woman Must Hear by TED Talks and some of the things I hear seem to be speaking right to me. It’s amazing how the Universe will put the message we need to hear right in front of us, all we have to do is be open to receive that message. One of the things that keep sticking out to me is that we can’t accomplish anything if we don’t set out to do it. I listened to one in particular on the way to work today that has really been ringing in my head  How To Stop Screwing Yourself Over . She speaks of how we condition ourselves to think everything is fine even when we aren’t satisfied. I spent the last year learning how to be more accepting of things in life, things beyond my control. I loved that I learned a great amount of patience through that and I learned how to not be angry (or not to hold onto anger) and that I believe has made me such a stronger and happier person but I think I also allowed myself to become complacent in some ways and that is a block. There is a difference between being accepting and rolling over and just letting things be. We must learn to create a balance between the two – allow ourselves to accept what we cannot change but to push ourselves to change what we can. Go after what you want in life!

Well now that I’ve gotten a bit off track in my tangent of motivation and podcasts… I made a decision to surround myself with things and thoughts of inspiration and motivation a while back and I began to build my quote wall. My quote wall lies right behind my bed. Each morning that I push myself out of my warm cozy bed (winter is not really my thing) I in turn get to make my bed and inhale in all the beautiful words I have put among myself. It is invigorating and amazing how my eyes always seem to fall upon the right quote at the right time. Some days, in those moments that I may be feeling challenged, I will come sit on my bed facing the wall and just breathe and let the quotes flow into me. My quotes come from all over, an eclectic collection for each day, for each challenge, that spoke to me in any such moment…

2016 In Review

2016 was about finding inspiration and motivation in my life, 2017 will be about making things happen. I put building blocks in place, started gathering my tools for success, started pulling together my tribe – 2016 had its struggles and its sorrows but it has amazingly putting me right where I need to be to enter 2017 and that is such an inspiring feeling. Wonderful things came into play last year (so weird to say that already!) which helped shape me to where I am today, the first day of a beautiful and magical New Year!

2016 was about learning to feel things again, to live life fully, go beyond fear and go after what I want to happen in my life. The year taught me how to be strong again, stand on my own, and be true to myself. I learned that I have a story for everything and that I am actually a very interesting person and I have a lot to share with the world.

A Snowy Holiday Photo Shoot With Anthony Machcinski

Our first lay of snow of the season in Central Pennsylvania, and I had a photo shoot scheduled… what’s there to do, other than have a blast? There is nothing better than shooting with a photographer that is up for an adventure. So off we set to explore Hershey, PA for a day filled with unexpected props, quirky random sayings (I’m notorious for that), and an afternoon filled with laughter and purpose. 

Our first stop checked in at an old building foundation for a little tree pose practice. I must tell you, it takes a little balance to get into tree pose on a cinder block with a slick of ice on it…but I think we rocked it.

Next, we were off to the park at Chocolate Square. A beautiful little park filled with lights and lots of Christmas cheer. Feelings of being like a little kid again arose from me filling the park with our laughter and joy of the season. 

A quick wardrobe change and a little powder to my nose…

And then we were back out braving the cold for some fun fashion shoots. 

It was a cold, snowy day but it was a magnificent day for a photo shoot with Anthony Machcinski!

I Do Not Want To Be Finished…I Want To Be The Mess.

I am a canvas of life, an amazing piece of art still being created, a creation that has the ability to transform into anything I can dream of each and every day. Just as paint starts in a tube and then becomes a magnificent blob of wet paint on a palette, spilling and pouring among the surface which it lays on until a paintbrush picks it up and splatters it onto the canvas, so fluid, so free – that is what I want to be. I do not want to be a complete statue in a museum, to be looked at in awe, not yet. I want to be the wet clay still being molded. I want to be the photographs still developing in the dark room. I want to be the uncompleted drawing. I want to be the ever-moving stage during the play.

Right now, I just want to be the process of the artist because when I do pass, I want to be the great masterpiece of my long, vivid life.

This Thanksgiving, when you sit down for your meal remember to feel blessed, for the family, the friends that you have. Remember to feel blessed for being able to have a life to experience. Remember that even when times are tough, there is a lesson there to learn and that there is love in that moment even when you cannot see it. Remember that someone does love you just as you love someone else. Find a reason to be thankful for everything in your life, remember that everything has a purpose. I am thankful for everyone and every experience that I have in my life and I believe that I am exactly where I am meant to be. Today when you sit down be thankful for all, say cheers to all.
